With effect from 15 Jul 2010, this "Fall Protection for Managers & Supervisor Course" will be known as the "Work-At-Height Course for Supervisors" approved by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
From Jul 2010 onwards, this course is also available in the following formats :
- 6 Weekday evenings
- 2 Weekends (Saturdays only)
- 1 Weekend (Sat/Sun)
To provide a detailed awareness of height safety issues for managers and supervisors who may have no experience of high access operations but need to understand the legislation, operational planning, best practice use of equipment and how to select the correct height safety equipment for different work applications.
To provide the knowledge and know-how to develop a Fall Protection Plan including conducting fall hazard surveys. The National Work At Height Safety Taskforce aims to have all construction sites and shipyards in Singapore to implement Fall Protection Plans by 2012 and at all workplaces by 2015. Course content (as per MOM Curriculum Development Advisory)
- Section 1: Identify the various Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) legislation / codes of practice / approved codes of practice / Singapore standards applicable to WAH
- Section 2: Conduct risk assessment on safety & health hazards and implement preventive measures related to working at height
- Section 3: Identify, use and care for the various fall arrest systems and equipment
- Section 4: Develop and implement a Fall Protection Plan
