The characteristics of various descent devices are explained together with safety critical aspects of each.
For any person working in a remote location where immediate evacuation may be needed. Includes extensive use of evacuation equipment.
Candidates will learn the suitability of various anchor types and the correct positioning of anchors for ease of descent.
Includes information on hazards for descent lines (especially sharp edges and slack rope), the need to ensure a free descent path, methods of controlling the speed of descent and how to secure descenders to halt during the descent.
Candidates will gain practical experience of a variety of descent devices during the course.
